Located throughout the United States, Hawaiian Falls Waterparks is a series of water parks run by ProParks Management Company. Located in Hawaiian Falls Garland, also known as Hawaiian Falls Firewheel, this was the first park developed for the Hawaiian Falls theme park franchise. On May 24, 2003, the city of Garland, Texas, formally opened its doors. Located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and Central Texas, the Hawaiian Falls operations are spread across five different locations.
The waterpark is located on approximately 12 acres close to the Spring Creek Forest Preserve and is visible from the George Bush Turnpike, which was completed on December 18, 2002, and is accessible by car or public transportation.
A total of fifteen attractions are located within Hawaiian Falls Garland. 11 water slides, a lazy river, an interactive water tree-house, a wave pool, an activity pool, and a few food booths are all part of the package.
The park, which cost around $5.5 million to construct, was the result of a public-private cooperation between the city of Garland and Hawaiian Falls. CNL Lifestyle Properties purchased Hawaiian Falls Garland for $6,305,000 in 2006, making it the most expensive purchase in the company’s history. After closing the park, CNL leased it back to Horizon Family Holdings, which ran it until ProParks Management Company took over the lease in May 2018. When CNL closed on the property, EPR Properties bought it from them.
Whirlwind 360, which was a thrill ride with two slides, was one of the previous slides. The slides begin at the top of a 60-foot tower, where two riders are launched down two tubes that arc into a bowl at the bottom. Following several revolutions, the riders will exit the bowl through a set of stairs in the middle of its circumference. It first opened its doors in 2012, however it will close and be demolished in 2020.
There are two dining establishments and one shopping center in the park. Sharky’s, a tiny cafe in the park that serves a variety of culinary options, is the first of these establishments to be mentioned. It was Opened in 2004 and the Pizza Hut Express opened in 2007, but currently closed.
The second dining is the Surfside BBQ which offers a full range of grilled and smoked meats. They are cooked fresh daily as well as Hawaiian shave ice.
The shopping centre is called Island Trader’s Gift Shop. It is a gift shop that rents lockers and offers snack items, sunscreen, Big Squirt water toys and Hawaiian Falls souvenirs.
